Organic matters Winter 2026

adminMedia, Latest News

We’re still buzzing from our time presenting at and attending the Organic and Biodynamic Winegrowing Conference 2025, hosted by Organic Winegrowers New Zealand.

It was wonderful to reconnect with old friends, make so many new ones and share the EcoVineyards approach with winegrowers and practitioners interested in organic, biodynamic, regenerative and ecological viticulture.

We remain incredibly grateful to the organisers and winegrowers who invited Dr Mary Retallack of Retallack Viticulture & Ecology back to New Zealand to share the EcoVineyards program with a broader audience through a three-region tour.

The opportunity to take the conversation from Australia to New Zealand has been a wonderful reminder that many of the challenges facing winegrowers are shared across regions — and that there is enormous value in sharing practical knowledge, experiences and solutions between growers.

We are delighted to feature on the cover of the latest Organic Matters magazine, alongside a rich tapestry of ideas and perspectives from practitioners championing organic, biodynamic, regenerative and ecological approaches to growing in harmony with nature.

From Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough to Central Otago, the 2026 EcoVineyards New Zealand Tour provided wonderful opportunities for conversations in vineyards, sharing practical information and learning from growers on the ground.

A huge thank you to everyone who welcomed us, asked questions, shared their experiences and contributed to the conversation.

Looking ahead

We’re already looking forward to the next Organic and Biodynamic Winegrowing Conference, to be held 1–3 June 2027 in Central Otago, Aotearoa New Zealand.

We hope to see many familiar faces — and plenty of new ones — there.
