Healthy and diverse populations of predatory arthropods (insects and spiders) including European earwigs can help prevent grapevine pests from reaching economically damaging thresholds. European earwigs may also cause some minor nibbling damage to grapevines early in the growing season and we discuss how biocontrol can be used to control their numbers if this is of concern.
